HAPPINESS CONTENTMENT

In one of his short novels William Saroyan, in the character of his (real) grandmother, makes a distinct difference between contentment and happiness: contentment is solid - you have a crumb now and then; while happiness is like a river - it flows and you know when you are happy even if there are moments when you are sad.

In Bulgarian there are many expressions and narratives that were born from a life of hardship and used as a general “advice” - they have become an inseparable part of the mentality.

One of the sayings is "Do not abandon the tamed for the wild". Another: "The known evil is better than the unknown"

This project is a simple act of observation on multiple people and lives. It consists of 15 black and white photographs and 3 write ups / typography artworks
